Steel requirements for plastic mould

1) heat resistance
With the appearance of high speed forming machine, the speed of plastic products is accelerated.Due to the mold temperature between 200-350 ℃, if plastic liquidity is not good, and fast forming speed, can make the mold parts molding surface temperature over 400 ℃ in a very short time.In order to ensure the accuracy and small deformation of the die in use, the die steel should have high heat resistance.
2) sufficient wear resistance
With the expansion of the use of plastic products, in the plastic often need to add glass fiber and other inorganic materials to enhance the plasticity, as a result of the addition of additives, plastic mobility greatly reduced, leading to mold wear, so it requires good wear resistance.
3) excellent cutting performance
Most plastic molding molds, in addition to edm, also need to carry out some cutting and fitter repair.In order to prolong the service life of cutting tools, the machining hardening is small in the cutting process.In order to avoid the influence of mould deformation on the precision, it is hoped that the residual stress can be controlled in the minimum.
4) good thermal stability
Plastic injection mold parts shape is often more complex, difficult to process after quenching, so should try to choose a good thermal stability of the material.
5) mirror processing performance
The cavity surface is smooth, the molding surface is polished to a mirror surface, the surface roughness is less than Ra0.4 m, to ensure the appearance of the plastic parts and easy to demodulate.
6) heat treatment performance
In the die failure accident, the accident caused by heat treatment is generally 52.As a result, heat treatment plays an important role in the whole process of mold manufacturing.In general, it is required that the heat treatment deformation is small, the quenching temperature range is wide, the overheating sensitivity is small, in particular, there should be greater hardenability and hardenability and so on.
7) corrosion resistance
In the forming process, corrosion gas may be released to decompose corrosive gas by heat, such as HC1, HF and other corrosive molds. Sometimes, the mold is corroded and damaged at the air flow port, so the mold steel is required to have good corrosion resistance.
