Plastic mould design elements
Mould design and manufacture are closely related to plastic processing.The success or failure of plastic processing depends largely on the mould design effect and the mould manufacturing quality, and the plastic mould design is based on the correct plastic product design.
The structural elements to be considered in the design of plastic mould are:
(1) parting surface, that is, when the mold closed die and punch contact surface with each other.The choice of its position and form is influenced by the shape and appearance of the product, the thickness of the wall, the forming method, the post-processing technology, the type and structure of the mold, the demoulding method and the structure of the molding machine.
(2) structural parts, that is, the complex mold slider, inclined top, straight top block.The design of structural parts is very critical, related to the life of the mold, processing cycle, cost, product quality, etc., so the design of complex core structure of the mold for the designer’s comprehensive ability requirements is higher, as far as possible to pursue more simple, more durable, more economical design scheme.
(3) mold precision, that is, avoid card, precision positioning, guide column, positioning pin, etc.Positioning system is related to the appearance of the product quality, mold quality and life, according to the mold structure, choose different positioning mode, positioning accuracy control mainly depends on processing, internal mold positioning is the main designer to fully consider, design a more reasonable and easy to adjust the positioning mode.
(4) The pouring system is the feeding channel from the nozzle of the injection molding machine to the mold cavity, including the main flow channel, the diversion channel, the gate and the cold feed hole.In particular, the location of the sprue should be selected to facilitate the molten plastic to fill the cavity in a good flow state, and the solid runner attached to the product and the cold material in the sprue can be easily pushed out of the mold and cleared (except the hot runner mold) during the mold opening.
(5) plastic shrinkage and affect the dimensional accuracy of the products of various factors, such as mold manufacturing and assembly errors, mold wear and so on.In addition, the design of the die and injection molding, molding machine should also consider the process and structural parameters of the match.Computer aided design technology has been widely used in plastic mould design.
