Punching mould terminology basics
1, curling
The crimping is a stamping process in which the edge of the process member is wound into a nearly closed circle. The axis of the curled circle is linear.
2, curling edge
The crimping edge is a stamping process in which the upper edge of the hollow member is wound into a nearly closed circle.
3, drawing
Drawing is a stamping process that turns a straight wool or process piece into a curved shape. The curved surface is mainly formed by the extension of the material at the bottom of the punch.
4, pull the bend
The bending is a stamping process in which the bending deformation is realized under the combined action of the pulling force and the bending moment, and the entire bending cross section is subjected to the tensile stress.
5, bulging
The bulging is a stamping process in which the hollow member or the tubular member is expanded radially outward. Sectioning A sectioning is a type of stamping process in which a part of a forming process is divided into several parts.
6, leveling
Leveling is a stamping process that improves the flatness of a partial or integral flat part.
7, undulating forming
It is a stamping process that relies on the extension of the material to form a partial depression or protrusion of the process member. The change in material thickness in the undulating formation is unintentional, that is, a small change in thickness is naturally formed during the deformation process, and is not a design-specified requirement.
8, bending
Bending is a stamping process in which a material is plastically deformed by pressure to be bent into a shape having a certain curvature and a certain angle.
9, chiseling
Chiseling is a blanking or punching process using a chiseling die with a sharp edge. There is no lower die when cutting, and the flat material under the material is only a flat plate, and most of the material to be washed is non-metal.
10, deep hole punching
Deep hole punching is a punching process when the hole diameter is equal to or smaller than the thickness of the material to be punched.
11, blanking
Blanking is a stamping process that separates the material along a closed contour. The separated material becomes a workpiece or process piece, most of which is planar.
12, shrinkage
The necking is a stamping process in which the opening of the hollow member or the tubular member is pressurized to reduce it.
13, plastic surgery
Shaping is a stamping process that relies on the flow of material and changes the shape and size of the process piece to ensure the accuracy of the workpiece.
14, Renovation
Renovation is a stamping process that cuts a small amount of material along a contour or inner contour to improve edge finish and verticality. The refurbishing process generally also increases the dimensional accuracy.
15, flip holes
The burring is a stamping process that turns the material around the inner hole into a side flange.
16, flanging
The cuff is a stamping process that turns the material around the profile curve into a side short edge.
17, deep drawing
Deep drawing is a stamping process in which a straight wool or process member is turned into a hollow member, or the hollow member is further changed in shape and size. When drawing, the hollow member is mainly formed by flowing a material other than the bottom of the punch into the die.
18, continuous drawing
Continuous drawing is a stamping method in which the same shape (volume) is used to form a desired shape and size by multiple drawing with the same pair of molds (continuous drawing die).
19, thinning and deep drawing
Thinning and drawing is a drawing process in which the hollow process member is further changed in shape and size, and the side wall is intentionally thinned.
20, reverse drawing
The reverse drawing is a drawing process in which the inner wall of the hollow process member is everted.
21, poor temperature drawing
Differential temperature drawing is a deep drawing process in which the temperature of the material to be deformed is much higher than the temperature of the material of the deformed portion by heating and cooling means, thereby increasing the degree of deformation.
22, hydraulic deep drawing
Hydraulic drawing is a drawing process that uses a liquid contained in a rigid or flexible container instead of a punch or a die to form a hollow member.
23, ribs
The rib is a kind of undulating shape. When the local undulations appear in the form of ribs, the corresponding undulating forming process is called embossing
